So why the major cosmetic surgery on Creative Opera? Well, when I started this blog, it was mainly as an experiment. I missed teaching and I wanted to see if I would enjoy sharing my knowledge through the internet as much as I loved educating students in the classroom. I wanted to see if it would suck up too much time, if I would eventually get bored, and if anyone would even want to read my posts. So, I tossed it up over a weekend, and gave myself three months.

It turns out that I LOVE teaching through my blog. I have yet to be bored or at a loss for ideas, and the positive feedback I get from my amazing readers is almost as good as watching my students succeed. It does take up a lot of my time, but so far it’s been worth it.

So, looking ahead, I wanted a blog design that could grow with time. I wanted a few extra features, easier access to categories, and a more polished look. And, I thought I might as well do it now before I have hundreds of posts to transfer over into a new theme. 

I still have some odds and ends to tie up, and have to polish some sections, but I think the main bulk of the work is done. I’m pretty happy with it, and I hope that you enjoy the upgrade. Of course I’m always glad to hear what you think, so feel free to leave comments.
