I thought that by starting a Flickr group, it would be a great way for Creative Opera readers to share their work. I welcome all of you to join and upload your best design work. Not only is it fun to see what other people are doing, but it’s inspirational as well. You could even use the discussion board to ask for critiques on a working design. Once we get enough members, I’d love to do a monthly post of all of the most-amazing images from the group! 

If you are ready to get started, just follow these simple instructions:

1. If you don’t already have a Flickr account, you’ll have to sign up for one before you can join the group. No worries, it’s free!

2. Start uploading your photos, designs, illustrations etc. to your Photostream by clicking on “You” and then choosing “Upload Photos and Videos.”

3. Click on “Choose photos and videos.”

4. Find your image

5. If you want your image to appear in the Creative Opera sidebar, make sure you have the privacy set to “Public”

6. Continue uploading photos until you are satisfied. Then, in order to make sure your photos show up in the Creative Opera sidebar, you’ll want to double-check some of the settings. Go under “Organize” to “All your content.”

7. Drag all of the photos you’d like to appear on the Creative Opera sidebar into the batch area from the strip of photos along the bottom. Click on “Permissions” and go to “Who can see, comment, tag?”

8. Select “Anyone (Public)” and click “Change Permissions”

9. Go back to “Permissions” one more time, and this time choose “Set safety filter.”

10. Make sure the safety filter is set to “Safe.” I realize that a lot of artistic content may not be G-rated, but since this is a website for all ages, and since I don’t want to take the chance of offending anyone, please only set your truly safe images as “Safe.” Only images marked as safe will appear in the Creative Opera sidebar.

11. You’re ready to join the Creative Opera – Designer Showcase Flickr group! Once you join and you’re on the Group Pool page, you’ll want to click on “Add photos or video” to start adding your images to the pool.

12. Just drag and drop images from your Photostream to the “Your Selections” area at the right to add your images to the Creative Opera group pool. Your images should show up in the Creative Opera sidebar shortly!

I hope that you will all consider joining the group, and once you join, I’ll hope you’ll stop in often to check out everyone else’s work and drop some comments or words of encouragement. I’d love to have enough awesome stuff to create a “Best of Creative Opera Flickr” post in August, so keep on adding images!
